No one is talking about this rural Italian destina No one is talking about this rural Italian destination! You’ve probably heard of Tuscany, but not Marche, right? 🤔

(Comment MARCHE for our guide with details + how to do this trip as e-bike adventure!)

↓ Our mini sustainable travel guide to Marche, Italy, part 1:

New here? Hi, we’re Ketti 🇺🇸 and Emanuele 🇮🇹! @tiltedmap helps you find more sustainable travel options in Italy & beyond. Follow if you’re passionate about sustainability, or to join us on an e-bike trip here!

🏨 HOTELS – SAVE this for your trip planning!

We’ve stayed in lots of gorgeous, locally owned hotels in the Marche region. A few favorites:

— In Fabriano, La Portella B&B: small, traditional Italian-style hotel with small rooms, a great breakfast & views of the medieval town center.

— Hotel Residenza La Ceramica: a bit more formal, elegant & spacious, right in the center of Fabriano.

— Hotel Le Grotte: perfect escape in the mountains with a spa, massage, restaurant & outdoor pools.

— Tenuta San Marcello: organic & biodynamic winery with modern rooms & AMAZING views.

— View Place Numana: 5-star hotel on Marche’s “Riviera del Conero” coast with a FANTASTIC spa (best massage ever) & a Michelin stared restaurant that served us a tasting menu of local seafood AND a 100% VEGAN menu.

📅 WHEN TO GO:

— Avoid August almost anywhere in Italy – it’s when all Italians are on vacation. July & early September are also busy.
— Weather is lovely & crowds are almost non existent in May, June, late September & into October.

🚆 HOW TO GET THERE:

— Marche is easily accessible from Italy’s capital, Rome (FCO). (It’s also a main airport, where you’re most likely to get a direct flight.)
— Direct trains Rome ➡️ Fabriano take 2-3 hours.

💃 WHAT TO DO:

🚴‍♂️ Rent a bike for a day (or do a multi-day guided e-bike tour) with @basecamp523 , the local guides we’ve traveled with for years. (+ save 10% on your booking with the code TILTEDMAP )

2️⃣ 🔜 Follow @tiltedmap for PART 2 for more of the best activities in Marche!

😂 Which one are you — airport stressed or tot 😂 Which one are you — airport stressed or totally relaxed?

For the record, I’ve never missed a flight. ⏱️ I know exactly how fast I can power walk, and I guess I’m just comfortable with a little pressure.

Also, I think 9 minutes is plenty of time! But he recorded me because he thought it was shocking. 🤣(Then I made him film his part, even tho he was all WE DON’T HAVE TIME... and out came out in Italian, which he says “everyone understands.” 🤔🇮🇹)

Every relationship needs balance, right?

What else can’t you get on Amazon?? 🤔 If you What else can’t you get on Amazon?? 🤔

If you don’t *actually* need it, it’s not a deal.

👎 And if you have to buy it from a massive corporation that evades taxes and has a terrible records on workers’ rights, then it’s also not a deal.

Sure Amazon might be the most “convenient,” but it’s also pretty easy to avoid most of the time!

❤️‍🔥 Instead? Vote with your wallet. Spend your money to support REAL LOCAL PEOPLE who appreciate your business – both for your shopping AND YOUR TRAVEL.

📍 These clips are from our small group e-bike trips in rural Italy!! 🇮🇹 🚴‍♀️ 🍝 We’re running another in September and still have spots left – COMMENT BIKE TRIP and we’ll DM you the details!
